ATTIKO METRO OPERATION COMPANY S.A. (ΑΜΕL S.A.) has been running Lines 2 & 3 of the Athens Metro since 2000, commissioning year of these two lines. The entire network is 29.5 km long and consists of twenty-seven (27) stations. Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” and the area of Messogia are also directly connected with the city center through four (4) Metro Stations (PALLINI, KANTZA-PEANIA, KOROPI and Airport) within a 22.1 km-long section of the Suburban Railway.

The annual average number of Metro users is approximately 170 millions.
