Attiko Metro Operation Company S.A. (ΑΜΕL S.A.) has been operating the ATHENS METRO Lines 2 and 3 as of January 2000, when they were commissioned.
Today, METRO Network consists of:
Line 2 (Aghios Antonios – Aghios Dimitrios•Alexandros Panagoulis) 10.9 km long with fourteen (14) stations.
Line 3 (Egaleo – Doukissis Plakentias) 16.4 km long with fourteen (14) Stations.
21.2 kilometers of the Suburban Railway Network constitute the continuation of Line 3, through which the Athens International Airport "ELEFTHERIOS VENIZELOS" and the area of Messogia are directly connected to the city center using the METRO trains, via four (4) Stations namely Airport, Koropi, Peania – Kantza and Pallini.
